The Development Innovations Group (DIG) developed transformative methods that is contributing to the reduction of urban poverty in Africa and Asia in a measurable and sustainable way. With funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and its Advisory Programme, DIG aims at enhancing the quality of life of the urban poor and determining strategies that will address the failures of the urban market both in Asia and Africa.
This brief paper was prepared by Interface Consulting to help provide background information for a fact-finding visit to Uganda executed by DIG on February 2012.
