Friday June 15th, 2012 was one of great significance to partners involved in the Mbale Central Market Project ; Ambitious Construction Company Ltd and Interface Consulting Ltd. Here’s why:
The President visited the site and laid the foundation stone. Present were Ministers and MPs from the region, the Mayor for Mbale Central, Deputy Mayor and the Town Clerk along with the contractor and the supervision team from Interface. This project is slated to conclude in 2013 and will reduce congestion as well as increase trading opportunities for the vendors in Mbale and the surrounding towns in Eastern Uganda.
The event was a success and the President appreciated the work done. Our very own, Engineer Emma Serwanja had a brief face to face with the President during which he explained the thinking behind key design features of the market.
